New Delhi: Union Textiles Minister Kavuru Sambasiva Rao today submitted his resignation papers Prime Minister Manmohan Singh
over the issue of division of Andhra Pradesh.
Rao said vehemently in his letter, "I can't continue to be a member of the council of ministers against my conscience knowing that
the Government has caused irreparable damage to the state of Andhra Pradesh."
Rao, aged 63, belongs to Eluru constituency in AP in Lok Sabha. He was elected as a Lok Sabha MP for the first time in 1984, he is serving his fifth term. He served in the state Congress and has been on several parliamentary panels in the past including the vital public accounts committee.
Rao was upset about the division of the State in favour of a separate State, Telangana.
