Muzaffarnagar: The district authorities have issued 'Vishvas' cards to voters in Muzaffarnagar to assure them of free and fair polls. They encouraged them to vote without fear.
The cards contain mobile numbers of the district authorities in case a card holder encounters any pressure or influence during voting. Senior SP, Muzaffarnagar, said "Security will be provided immediately to the complainant." The authorities also gave away 'Chetavani' cards to those who could take to poll violence ahead of Lok Sabha polls in the district.
Describing the move as a precautionary measure, Singh said that those with red cards would be held responsible for disruptions and incidents of violence during elections.
