Says terrorist not its national, asks India to give proof

‘I’ll be killed,' says father of captured terrorist from Pak

New Delhi/Islamabad: Pakistan rejected India's assertion that a LeT terrorist captured alive after a terror attack in Udhampur was of Pakistani-origin and asked India to refrain from making "accusations".

"We have also seen media reports and I will not offer any comment on that issue. We expect the Indian authorities to share information with us on the claims that are being made in the media," Pakistan Foreign Office Spokesperson Syed Qazi Khalilullah said.

"We have said many a times that making immediate accusations on Pakistan is not correct. These things should be based on facts. We expect that whenever Pakistan is being accused of something, it will be accompanied with correct evidence," he said.

A Pakistani man has in an interview to Hindustan Times admitted that the terrorist captured on Wednesday in Udhampur, Jammu is his son. From across the border, the man, Mohammad Yakub, said over phone that he is the 'unfortunate father' of the terrorist who has told Indian investigators that his name is "Naved".

"I'll be killed, Lashkar and the Pakistani army are after us," the father was quoted as saying.

"Preliminary interrogation of the captured terrorist reveal his identity as Mohammad Naveed Yakub alias Usman, a resident of Faisalabad in Pakistan. He also revealed the identity of his slain accomplice as Mohammad Nomen alias Nomin, resident of Bhawalpur, Pakistan," Home Minister Rajnath Singh said.

In a fresh incident on Thursday a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was killed in encounter at Pulwama in Kashmir. Pakistan troops also targettted civilian areas along LOC in Poonch

Intelligence Bureau interrogators on the captured Pakistani terrorist Usman Khan, said one should not go by his smiling face. He is thoroughly brainwashed and a hardened terrorist. He is psychologically strong and has been cheerful and smiling throughout interrogation.

How BSF martyrs fought terrorists

Constable Subhendu Rai of the BSF was driving a bus with about 30 personnel, when two Pakistani terrorists attacked, about 10 km from Udhampur in Jammu. While one terrorist took position on a hill and began firing, the other stopped the bus and opened fire from the front.

Constable Rai was injured, but he prevented the terrorist, later identified as a Pakistani called Noman, from entering the bus. The BSF said the injured constable hung on to the driver's door, ensuring that the terrorist could not get in. Noman then went around the bus constantly firing at its back and sides from his AK-47 rifle and again attempted to get into it from one of the other doors. This time Constable Rocky, who was seated on a front seat on the left side of the bus, engaged Noman with his INSAS rifle, emptying his magazine. Noman fell to the bullets, said the BSF, but not before he had lobbed a grenade near the door of the bus. Both Constable Rai and Constable Rocky died of bullet wounds.
