New Delhi: After Pakistan's vehement denial that lone captured Udhampur attacker Mohammed Naved was not its citizen, the NIA has said that they have enough evidence to show that the Lashkar militant is a Pakistani, according to media reports. NIA officials also said that Naved revealed his links to the Pakistan's Inter-Services-Intelligence.

NIA chief Sharad Kumar on Thursday said there is enough evidence to prove that Mohammad Naveed Yakub, the terrorist captured in Udhampur, is a Pakistan national.

"After interrogating him for two days, we have enough evidence to prove that Naveed is a Pakistani. We have gathered scientific evidence to corroborate what Naveed told us during the questioning," Kumar said.

Naveed was brought to Delhi from Jammu under tight security on Thursday for 'focussed interrogation' by the central agency. Other reports quoted Kumar as saying he was part of Lashkar-e-Taiba, which trained him in use of arms and ammunition and for recruiting cadre for expansion of the terror group. During his interrogation in the presence of Kumar over the last two days , Naveed reportedly confessed he had undergone a refresher course for six weeks in Pakistan from March this year along with 25 others before infiltrating Kashmir.

He told interrogators that he underwent two training modules-- 'Daur-e-Aam' and 'Daura-e-Khas'. While the first module teaches LeT cadre physical fitness, mountaineering and use of small arms, in the second they are trained in using assault rifles and manufacturing small explosives. Naveed was captured on August 5 after he, along with his accomplice Noman alias Momin, ambushed a BSF convoy in the Samraoli area killing two jawans and injuring 14 others.
