Modi’s Mission Dawood in UAE? Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited 25 countries in the last 15 months, including his on-going visit to the UAE, after assuming office in May last year.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited 25 countries in the last 15 months, including his on-going visit to the UAE, after assuming office in May last year.

Meanwhile, PM is likely to urge UAE to seize properties belonging to wanted underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

Sources said that National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval, who is accompanying the PM on the tour, is carrying a confidential list of Dawood's properties in UAE. Doval's dossier on Dawood also includes all the latest information available with India about him.

Modi, during his meeting with UAE authorities, is expected to urge them to seize all benaami and other properties registered in the name of Dawood, who is wanted in 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts case. Indian agencies would also provide list of Dawood's shares in many companies and details about his hotel business across UAE.

Dawood's brother Anis Ibrahim runs a company named Golden Box in Dubai with the help of his brother-in-law.

Chef Sanjeev’s special for PM

Star chef Sanjeev Kapoor was flown to Abu Dhabi to cook a special vegetarian fare for Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the dinner hosted by the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) that controls the $800 billion sovereign wealth fund of the oil-rich Gulf country.

"Discussing invest opprts over high level dinner. HH Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, MD of Abu Dhabi Inv. Authority hosts PM," tweeted external affairs ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup. "Star chef @SanjeevKapoor was flown in by UAE hosts for a special vegetarian menu in honour of PM @narendramodi," he added.

Meanwhile, UAE is open to meeting any demand for oil from India, the Gulf OPEC member's economy minister Sultan bin Saeed al-Mansouri said.

"India is importing oil now and the UAE is open to meet demand for any oil from India," Mansouri said.
