2nd, 4th Saturdays bank holidays

New Delhi: Bringing cheers to lakhs of bank employees, the government has accepted the long-pending demand of workers to declare second and fourth Saturdays as holidays with effect from September 1.

Accordingly, the banks will be closed on 12th and 26th of September. However, in lieu of this, the banks will function for full-day on the first and third Saturdays, says the bank sources. At present, all PSU and private sector banks work half-day on Saturdays.
