A leading home service provider Housejoy, in association with Radio city, helped the flood victims in the city by setting up free services camp in the flood affected areas this week. A leading home service provider Housejoy, in association with Radio city, helped the flood victims in the city by setting up free services camp in the flood affected areas this week. The services were offered in the largely affected areas – Madipakkam, Velachery, Pallikaranai, Medavakkam, Adyar, Kotturpuram, Valasaravakkam.
Housejoy has offered services like electrical check-up, plumbing service, refrigerator and washing machine check-up, mosquito control and dewatering. The company served more than 258 houses with free mosquito control services, 50 houses for electrical, 80 houses for appliances checkup.
One had to just give a missed call to 8655019960 to book for inspection.Housejoy said it took up the initiative to help the common household of Chennai and have put 30 volunteer workmen on duty in the said areas. They are providing all inspections free of charge.
“We could not come out of the house for the last two days as it was filled with water. Thanks to the Housejoy and Radio City team for helping us in this time of distress”, Nagammal, a customer at Pallikaranai who used the Housejoy service.
“Since the rain water was stagnant outside, there were lot of mosquitoes. Now, Housejoy has done a free mosquito control for us. We and our children are free from mosquito trouble now. A very good initiative!” – Suteesh Kumari, another customer at Madipakkam who availed for Housejoy service.
In recent years, technology companies like Alphabet Inc.-owned Google Inc. and Facebook Inc. have launched services to assist during humanitarian crises, from disease epidemics to hurricanes and massive earthquakes Housejoy is backed by venture-capital firms Matrix Partners.
