Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that agriculture should be made drought proof by shifting the paradigm from relief work to investment in agriculture.

Fadnavis, while speaking at an event in Thursday, said that his government plans to create water structures and micro irrigation in 5000 villages across the state with an aim to make the state drought free in next five years. He also stated that 'Jalyukta Shival Abhyaan' would create distributive water structure by water conservation.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister asserted that linkages between agriculture sector with secondary and tertiary sectors needed to be developed to create value addition for agriculture products.
