Allahabad: Asserting that the "Congress-mukt Bharat for us is not merely about defeating Congress at the hustings everywhere, although that will be the primary objective of our party," the Bharatiya Janata Party said that a Congress-free India would mean ridding the country of the Congress brand politics -- "corruption, nepotism, politics of inheritance and blue blood, arrogance and non-accountability, politics of obstructionism and vote banks".
The political resolution adopted at its national executive meet here said that victory in Assam and growth in the "Coromandel Coast spanning from West Bengal to Tamil Nadu and Kerala" reveal the growth of the party.
"We secured a good vote share in the states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Orissa and West Bengal. However the number of Lok Sabha seats that the party has won in these states was very small," it said, adding the BJP has started working on strengthening its organisational network in this region.
"The recently concluded Assembly elections encourage us to take the efforts forward. The National Executive calls upon the Karyakartas in these states to work with single-minded devotion in a mission mode for the next three years and prepare the party for big gains in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections," the resolution said.
The resolution claimed that the BJP, that has emerged as an only "pan-India" party will be not only a party of the present but also a "party of the future".
"Assam is the gateway to the entire northeast. The landslide victory in Assam has given us a great opportunity to expand our footprint in the entire northeastern region," the resolution said.
