Ujjain:The famous Nagchandreshwar temple in this district of Madhya Pradesh was thrown open to the public for 24 hours after the inaugural puja. The temple, which enshrines idols of Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati sitting on the hood of a snake, opens to the public only once a year on Nag Panchami, the fifth day of bright half of lunar month of Shravan (July-August) according to the Hindu calen

Ujjain:The famous Nagchandreshwar temple in this district of Madhya Pradesh was thrown open to the public for 24 hours after the inaugural puja.

The temple, which enshrines idols of Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati sitting on the hood of a snake, opens to the public only once a year on Nag Panchami, the fifth day of bright half of lunar month of Shravan (July-August) according to the Hindu calendar.

The temple will remain open from Saturday-Sunday midnight for only 24 hours. People in their thousands come from across the country to have a darshan of the deity.
