Cricketer-turned politician, Navjot Singh Sidhu who recently launched a new political front `Awaaz-e-Punjab`formally gave up his BJP membership on Wednesday. He along with his wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu resigned from the primary membership.
Cricketer-turned politician, Navjot Singh Sidhu who recently launched a new political front `Awaaz-e-Punjab`formally gave up his BJP membership on Wednesday. He along with his wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu resigned from the primary membership.
Earlier, the politician had resigned from Rajya Sabha back in July and was speculated to join the Aam Aadmi Party. However, Sidhu launched new front, saying that his fight was against the leaders who had "ruined" Punjab.
Navjot Singh Sidhu was elected to the Lok Sabha from Amritsar twice between 2004 and 2014 while his wife was elected to the Assembly in 2012 from Amritsar as a BJP candidate.
