Chandigarh: Army columns with artillery moved towards Punjab's border with Pakistan on Thursday amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan.
Army convoys could be seen moving towards the border belt in various border districts of Punjab, including Fazilka, Ferozepur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur and Pathankot.
People living within 10 km of the border with Pakistan in Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab have been asked to shift to safer places and schools ordered to be shut till further notice in the wake of surgical strike carried out by the Indian Army across the LoC.
