Hyderabad: While Chandrayaan 1, India's first mission to Moon, was meant to map the entire lunar surface at high spatial resolution, its picture on the new Rs 2,000 note is being used to air the November 8 speech of PM Narendra Modi, the day when the Prime Minister announced demonetisation of high-value currency notes.

All that one requires to make the Chandrayaan 1 image work is a smart phone and an app. The users can download the app - Modi Keynote-app GooglePlay store and scan Chandrayaan 1 image on the currency note.

Bingo! Instantly, the speech of Modi along with visuals would appear on the screen of the mobile phone.

Though no official announcement was made by either the Union government or the Reserve Bank of India about the launch of the app, the app has gone viral among smart phone holders.

The officials of the state Finance department said that they have no formal information about the launch of the app by the government or the RBI but have received information from the authorities about it.

Officials maintained that the nanotechnology inserted in the currency notes to curb the creation of counterfeit notes helps the viewers to watch the speech of the Prime Minister.
