Shirdi: Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati Suresh Chandra Panda inaugurated All India Radio's new FM broadcasting radio centre at the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust (SSST) run dharmashala premises here.

At the inauguration function yesterday, Panda said devotees of Saibaba and people within 15 kms surrounding of the town can now listen to 'arti', 'bhajans' and prayers conducted at the Saibaba shrine in morning and evening slots. The centre has transmitter of 100 Watt capacity and after expansion of its capacity up to five Kilo Watt, the broadcast reach will expand up to 50 kms in near future.

The broadcast from the radio centre began yesterday. SSST chairman Suresh Haware, who was present at the inauguration, said after Tirupati Balaji (in Andhra Pradesh), Shirdi Saibaba temple has got a seperate AIR FM radio broadcasting centre and it is a 'historic moment'.

Bhajans and prayers from the Saibaba shrine will be relayed from 5 to 6 AM and 9 to 10.30 PM, while other programmes broadcast from neighbouring Aurangabad AIR radio station will be relayed.
