Hyderabad: In yet another step towards giving a big push to foreign investments in the manufacturing sector under the unique TS-iPASS , the Telangana government has decided to create exclusive industrial parks for foreign countries, especially South Korea, Japan, China, Germany and Gulf nations for opening their production units.

Taking cue from the successful setting up of exclusive industrial parks by China in Gujarat and Maharashtra, the TS government is eyeing to attract foreign investments from Asian and European countries.

The state industries department had already studied the success of the industrial parks in those states recently.

Top officials of the state Industries department told The Hans India that the government had identified big scope for foreign investments in the manufacturing sector in view of air, road and railway connectivity.

The world class companies like Samsung, Hyundai and LG from South Korea, Sony, Toyota and Honda from Japan, steel manufacturing companies from China, German electronic units and lubricant companies from Gulf countries are keen to set up manufacturing units and assembling plants in different parts of India in view of increased demand for their products in the country.

During the visit to Japan, South Korea and Gulf recently by Industries Minister KT Rama Rao, the several companies have expressed their desire to set up units in Telangana. The Government in turn offered good incentives, according to official sources.

As part of inviting investments, the government has decided to create exclusive Korean Industrial Park as well as Japan Industrial Park on the outskirts of the city. Incentives like basic infrastructure water and power supply would be provided by the government.

TSIIC (Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd) Chairman G Balamallu said the corporation also began an exercise to identify suitable land to set up the exclusive industrial parks by the respective countries.

To promote the manufacturing sector in a big way, the government has already decided to create three more industrial zones in Yadadri, Khammam and Nizamabad.
