Man strangulates wife to death, held
A 28-year-old woman was allegedly strangulated to death by her husband at Shishupada in Dahanu in the district, police said today.
Palghar (Maha): A 28-year-old woman was allegedly strangulated to death by her husband at Shishupada in Dahanu in the district, police said today. The accused Chandu Dulsada (30), a mason by profession, was arrested from Shishupada early this morning, police said. "The couple used to quarrel over petty issues frequently. Yesterday afternoon, an argument broke out between them.
Chandu's uncle tried to intervene, but was driven away by him. Later, in a fit of rage, Chandu strangulated his wife Shalu to death," inspector Sudam Shinde of Dahanu police station said. The police arrested him in the wee hours today and charged him under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 506 (criminal intimidation). The accused was produced in the court, which remanded him in police custody till March 23, Shinde said.
