The Maharashtra Police on Friday arrested five persons including a 17-year-old for raping a minor girl for the last eight months in Bhayandar.

The girl was gang raped on several occasions by eight men, including her boyfriend and his friends. She is now pregnant.

The girl was friendly to a 20-year-old boy living in her locality since three years.

Eight months ago, the boy asked her to accompany him to a secluded spot in Bhayandar.

He raped her underneath a water tank after threatening to harm her parents and siblings.

Three days after the sexual abuse, he called her to the same location and raped her again.

He then called three of his friends, all known to the girl. They took turns to sexually abuse her.

After sometime, her parents moved to another locality. On April 6, when the girl began vomiting her mother got suspicious. A medical test showed she was 45-days pregnant.

On Thursday, the victim's parents filed a police complaint. The police official said the other three are to be arrested. Two police teams have been formed to nab the accused.

The eight accused have been booked for gang rape under Sections 376 (2), unnatural sex (377) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
