New Delhi: A team of the Delhi police will visit Chennai to investigate further in the TTV Dinakaran Election Commission bribery case. The team is armed with evidence gathered following the interrogation of Dinakaran and his two aides.

The Delhi police arrested Dinakaran in the EC bribery case late on Tuesday and produce him in the court and got his custody for five days. While his admission of meeting with conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar was one of the main grounds for the arrest, a hawala transaction which he allegedly made was the turning point.

The case of the Delhi police is that Dinakaran had through Sukesh tried to bribe EC officials to bag the AIADMK's two leaves symbol. The Delhi police has learnt about the role played by some persons in Tamil Nadu who are alleged to have helped crack the deal to try and bag the two leaves symbol of the AIADMK. The police team is likely to camp in Chennai for two days to gather more evidence.
