Maharashtra: BJP MLA's bodyguard shoots self

A BJP MLA's bodyguard allegedly shot himself in Maharshtra's Naxal-hit Gadchiroli district on the morning of June 23 in Mumbai, said a police official.

Bhaskar Chauke, 34, shot himself with a pistol in the Warsa tehsil office of MLA Krishna Gajbe, who represents Armori Assembly constituency in the district, Gadchiroli's Superintendent of Police Abhinav Deshmukh told PTI.

Deshmukh ruled out any political motive to the suicide and said, "He killed himself over a domestic issue. He was allegedly involved in an illicit affair with a married woman."
