She had acted in over 50 Bengali movies and a few Hindi Movies like ' Anand'(1971), ' Guddi'(1971), ' Aashirwad'(1968) and ' Mere Apne'(1971).Sanyal was married to film editor Subodh Roy and has a son with him.
