New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has accused China of meddling in Kashmir's internal affairs. Mufti, who was in Delhi on Saturday to apprise Union Home Minister about the situation in the state in the aftermath of the terror attack on Amarnath Yatra pilgrims on July 10 in Kashmir's Anantnag district, lauded the Centre for its support.

Seven pilgrims were killed by militants in Anantnag while returning from the Amarnath cave shrine. In the meeting that lasted a little over 30 minutes, the leaders discussed the security measures being adopted to ensure tourists and pilgrims in the state were kept out of harm's way, and the direction the ongoing investigation into the attack was taking.

Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, Mehbooba said the Amaranth pilgrims were targeted to instigate communal riots across the country. She blamed the deteriorating law and order situation on foreign powers. "Foreign hands are involved and unfortunately now, China is also interfering", the Chief Minister said.
