So, after movies on assassins of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi (Cyanide) and dacoit veerappan (Attahasa), the latest to have caught his attention is former DIG (Prisons) D Roopa Moudgil.

So, after movies on assassins of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi (Cyanide) and dacoit veerappan (Attahasa), the latest to have caught his attention is former DIG (Prisons) D Roopa Moudgil.

Ramesh is making a biopic of the whistler blower IPS officer who made headlines recently after exposing illegal activities in Bengaluru Central jail."I am impressed by the way IPS Roopa exposed prison irregularities. As such I decided to make a biopic on her," Ramesh said, adding, "Due to my series of movies on Police and crime, I have developed good connections in the detaprtment."

The Cyanide director also said that he recently had meetings with IPS officers and even prisoners."I am very much aware about the prison environment," he added.The director is yet to get permission from the IPS officer to make a biopic on her.
"I've not sought Roopa's permission yet but will talk to her after first phase scripting is done," Ramesh said.

Roopa came into limelight for exposing irregularities at Bengaluru Parappana Agrahara Central prison, where AIADMK (Amma) general secretary VK Sasikala is lodged. She accused her senior officials of taking Rs 2 crore as a bribe from Sasikala in return for preferential treatment.

Siddaramaiah government had issued a notice to Roopa for going to media with her allegations about special treatment to Sasikala at Parappana Agrahara Central prisons.

Sasikala is serving term in Parappana Agrahara Central prisons after being convicted in a disproportionate assets case.
In her career of 17 years, Roopa has been transferred 26 times. She has also worked in Yadgiri district for over three years.
