Hyderabad: Responding to the Supreme Court verdict on Triple Talaq, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said it would be a tough task to implement the court ruling on the 1400-year-old practice. Reiterating that the reform must come from within the community over the triple talaq, Owaisi said it was his party’s opinion and not that of All India Muslim Personal Law Board.

He said, “The herculean task would be to implement the judgment on the ground level.” “Muslim bodies have been trying to create awareness among the community over the past few months on the practice,” he said. Speaking to the media at the party office here, Owaisi said the verdict was not unanimous. Responding to the queries, he urged the Central government to set up a fund for the welfare of the widows.
