Mumbai (Maharashtra): The search and rescue operations by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) along with other agencies at the site of building collapsed in Bhendi Bazaar area, South Mumbai concluded on Friday.

The three-storey Husaini building collapsed on Thursday in Mumbai's Bhendi Bazaar area.

Three Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) teams of NDRF were ceaselessly engaged to locate the victims since Thursday morning.

NDRF rescuers continue operations during whole night to made access to the maximum victims, trapped under the rubble of collapsed building.

NDRF responders carried out the CSSR Operation by making best use of available state of the art equipment and sniffers dogs in looking for survivors under the rubble.

During the operation, rescue agencies rescued 13 persons and retrieved 33 dead bodies.

Before concluding the operation, a confirmation search was carried out to ensure that no more victims are left trap under the debris.

Once the confirmatory search was over, the Operation commander in consultation with BMC/local authority called off the search and rescue operations.
