Farrukhabad tragedy: Children died due to breathing trouble, says doctor
The doctor on Monday rubbished the allegations that lack of oxygen led to the death of children in the Ram Manohar Lohia District hospital in Uttar Pradesh\'s Farrukhabad district.

"Children did not die due to lack of oxygen in the hospital. They died out of breathing problem caused due to asphyxia (disease caused due to lack of oxygen in the children's brain at the time of delivery)," Dr. Kailash Kumar told ANI.
Following the Gorakhpur incident that took lives of more than 70 children at Baba Raghav Das (BRD) Medical College, at least 49 children died in Farrukhabad in last one month.
According to the reports, parents alleged the hospital authority for the death of the children and claimed that they have informed the magistrates about the lack of oxygen and medicines in the hospital.
Earlier in the dayl, a first information report (FIR) was registered against the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of Farrukhabad's Ram Manohar Lohia Rajkiya Chikitsalaya.
"A case has been registered against the CMO, the CMS and several doctors on the matter. Further action will be taken as the investigation proceeds," said Farrukhabad Superintendent of Police (SP) Dayanand Mishra.
According to reports, a team has been formed to probe the deaths of the children, while the District Magistrate has demanded a report from the hospital on the children, who have died in the past one month.
Reportedly, District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar, and City Magistrate J.K. Jain had conducted an inquiry to probe the reason behind the incident. Few parents are also believed to have also complained about the lack of oxygen supply.
