 A special Delhi court on Saturday summoned former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman G Madhavan Nair and others in the Antrix-Devas deal case.

New Delhi : A special Delhi court on Saturday summoned former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman G Madhavan Nair and others in the Antrix-Devas deal case.

The court directed Nair and three senior former officials, A Bhaskar Narayana Rao and K R Sridhar Murthy, Veena S Rao to appear before it on December 23.

The court passed the directions after taking notice of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) charge sheet filed in the matter.

CBI had, on March 16, 2015, filed an FIR against G. Madhavan Nair and others, accusing them of facilitating 'wrongful' gain of Rs578 crore to private multimedia company Devas by Antrix.

The deal was finalised in 2005, saw an early exit of G Madhavan Nair as ISRO chairman, as he headed Antrix's governing council then.

The case is related to leasing of S-Band, a restricted wavelength of the INSAT satellites to deliver multimedia and information services to mobile receivers in vehicles and phones to the Devas by the Antrix.
