The two leaders engaged in discussions on strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The MEA spokesperson also tweeted that Swaraj had a meeting with Retno Masudi, her counterpart, ahead of the India-Indonesia Joint Commission meeting, which the two leaders are set to co-chair.

Earlier in the day, Swaraj was given a warm traditional Indonesian welcome on her arrival in the city.

Sushma Swaraj was received by the senior officers of the India Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia.

"EAM arrived in Jakarta today. She was received at Airport by Ambassador Pradeep Kumar Rawat, Ambassador Suresh Reddy, DCM and senior officers of Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia," Kumar tweeted.

Swaraj is on her first visit of the year 2018 to three South East Asian countries - Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.

The visit is aimed at giving a further boost to bilateral relations to the South East Asian countries within the framework of India's Act East Policy.
