Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday once again urged the people to fulfil father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi's dream of a clean India.

The Prime Minister, while interacting with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets, National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers and tableaux artists at Teen Murti Haifa Chowk here, said that with time the people have become more conscious about cleanliness.

"It takes time to bring any change. It is Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary in 2019, and it is our duty to fulfil Mahatma Gandhi's dream of a Swachh Bharat," he said.Talking about the rich diversity of the nation, the Prime Minister said there is so much to learn from it and urged to embrace the changes.

"It is important to embrace changes happening around us. The youth of India can bring transformative changes in the nation," he continued.

He even asked the cadets to take extreme pride in the armed forces and learn more about their sacrifices.

Prime Minister Modi and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also got a picture clicked with the cadets and volunteers.

Last year while addressing the NCC rally, PM Modi said life of a NCC cadet is beyond the uniform, the parade and the camps as it provides a sense of mission.

The NCC experience offers a glimpse of India, its strength and its diversity, he said addressing the NCC rally here.

The world wonders how Indians are bound by unity despite so many regions, over 100 languages, 1,500 dialects, and different customs and food habits among others, Modi said.

"It is our country's strength," he said. Modi underlined that emperors, rulers, governments do not make a nation, but a nation is made by its citizens, youth, farmers, scholars, scientists, workforce, and saints.

He said NCC cadets inspire confidence about the future of India, and instill pride about the strength of our youth.
