Swamy tells Owaisi to count number of Muslims joining terror outfits

All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen MP Asaduddin Owaisi continues to draw flak for his comments on the patriotism of Indian Muslims. While the Army has already slammed him for trying to ‘communalise’ the issue, BJP’s firebrand MP Subramanian Swamy said Owaisi should also count the number of Muslims joining the terrorist organisations.

In a stinging tweet, Swamy said: "Owaisi can count Muslims army men killed. But can he also count how many Muslims are in terrorists organisation attacking the army," the BJP MP said in a tweet. This was his reply to Owaisi’s rhetoric that five of the six jawans killed in the February 10 attack on the Sunjuwan Army Camp in Jammu were Muslims.

Owaisi said that those who call Muslims Pakistani should learn something from this. Even the army has criticized Owaisi’s communalization of Army jawans’ death. Northern Command chief Lt Gen D Anbu said that there is a sarva dharma sthal in every army formation and there was no question of communalizing the sacrifice of the martyrs.

Both Subramanian Swami and Owaisi are firebrand politicians, but hold diametrically opposite views on many issues. They frequently battle it out on the prime time TV debates on various issues.
