Police served notice to BJP MLA Shailendra Jain for violating model code of conduct in Ashoknagar ahead of tomorrow's assembly by-poll in Mungaoli.

Talking to media, Tilak Singh, Superintendent of Police, Ashoknagar, said, "We received info that BJP MLA Shailendra Jain was seen near a temple in Mungaoli. Police reached the spot and seized his car."

The police official said FIR has been registered against the MLA for violating model code of conduct.

"Police served the MLA notice for violating model code of conduct and asked him to move out of Mungaoli limits. FIR has also been registered against Jain," the SP said.

BJP on Thursday accused the Mungaoli Congress candidate Brijendra Singh Yadav of distributing money to voters and Congress alleged that its Kolaras candidate Mahendra Yadav was beaten.
