Gali rumours create flutter
Leak of a conversation recorded on a phone purportedly between a Karnataka Congress MLA Basanna Gouda and BJP Bellary leader Gali Janardhan Reddy has created a flutter at Taj Krishna Hotel, where 76 Congress MLAs from Karnataka are camping under the watchful eyes of the Congress leaders of both Karnataka and Telangana.
​Hyderabad: Leak of a conversation recorded on a phone purportedly between a Karnataka Congress MLA Basanna Gouda and BJP Bellary leader Gali Janardhan Reddy has created a flutter at Taj Krishna Hotel, where 76 Congress MLAs from Karnataka are camping under the watchful eyes of the Congress leaders of both Karnataka and Telangana.
In the conversation, the voice which is attributed to Janardhan Reddy offered to “settle the life of MLA Basanna in return for support to the BJP” at the time of trial of strength in the Assembly on Saturday.
However, BJP leaders dismissed the voice as fake in which someone imitated the voice of Janardhan Reddy and that there was no need for them to resort to such cheap tricks when they happen to the largest party with 104 MLAs.
The taped broadcast over television channels kept the Congress MLAs on toes even as another rumour did the rounds that another MLA was missing from the group. The Congress leaders searched frantically and when the word got around that someone who does not belong to the Congress and who appeared with an intention to poach Congress legislators was roaming around in the cellar, the Congress leaders rushed there and searched for the fugitive but found none.
Meanwhile, the Congress leaders claimed that no one was missing from the group of 76 of the total 78 (two MLAs are in Bengaluru itself on health grounds), indicating that there was no BJP cat among the Congress pigeons in the camp.
