The 1993 Mumbai blasts which took 257 lives and left nearly 700 injured, also resulted in the properties getting destroyed worth Rs 27 crores. The serial-bomb-blasts took place at different locations including Bombay Stock Exchange building, Fisherman`s Colony in Mahim, Plaza Cinema, Zaveri Bazaar, and Katha Bazaar.

According to one of the accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, Lambu was a part of the ‘Arjun Gang’ in Musafir Khana, Firoz Abdul Rashid Khan.

In regard to the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, a special TADA court pronounced its verdict in June last year, convicting Abu Salem and five others — Mustafa Dossa, Feroz Abdul Rashid Khan, Taher Merchant, Riyaz Siddiqui, and Karimullah Khan.

All of them were charged for ‘waging a war against the nation’. Abu Salem was convicted on charges of conspiracy and terror activities while the others were charged with conspiracy, terrorism, and murder.

Among the accused, Mustafa Dossa died of a heart attack at the JJ Hospital a few days after the judgment in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts. Taher Merchant also suffered a heart attack in the prison and was rushed to a hospital. He couldn’t respond to the treatment and died in April 2018.
