NEW DELHI: There have been complaints from allies of BJP stating that it should be more mindful of its partner’s needs, because any fall out may cause a chain reaction which leads to its defeat, in the elections next year.

BJP chief, Amit Shah seems to be aware of this possibility, as he has arranged a meeting with Shiv Sena chief, Uddhav Thackeray who was rocky relationship with BJP.

Sena has been recently insistent in stating that it will not be contesting Lok Sabha as a partner to BJP. Shah is to try and heal the rifts by addressing the issues already raised by Thackeray.

Similarly BJP’s ties with JD(U) and the Akalis has also weakened.

BJP’s relation with SAD has weakened due to both the parties failing to click in the 2014 Lok Sabha.

These meetings are a direct result of demands by BJP’s allies that BJP should be trying to mend its alliance which was weakening, in the wake of recent bypoll election defeats.

If the alliances are not secured, the elections next year would pose a problem for BJP, especially given the recent successful banding of non-NDA parties in UP and Karnataka, which may occur in other states.
