Kadapa: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has promised seats in Fathima Institute of Medical Sciences (FIMS), Kadapa, to the students of 2015-16 batch of the same college who have now qualified in the NEET 2018.

Taking part in Nave Nirmana Deeksha here, the Chief Minister said that those of the students who did not qualify could seek refund of their fee from the college which they had paid at the time of the admission.

About 100 students have been agitating since 2015 after the MCI cancelled their admission to FIMS, after the college held classes for about six months.

Following the cancellation of recognition for the entire batch of 100 students, they have been fighting for government intervention for admission to them either in FIMS or some other college.

It was a roller coaster ride for the students, since the college, after the MCI cancelled the entire batch, went to the High Court and obtained a stay order and continued classes.

But the MCI challenged the stay and got it vacated. Then they knocked the doors of the Supreme Court which in October last year gave a decision in favour of the MCI.
