Vijayawada: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the successful conduct of 3-day Miosolia Beach Festival which will begin on Saturday at Manginapudi beach near Machilipatnam, the district headquarters of Krishna.

The district administration in coordination with the police department made fool-proof arrangements for the festival. Food courts, sand art, helicopter ride, camel ride, horse ride, flower show, mangoes and sarees exhibition, para-sailing are some of the events planned by the organisers.

The district administration is conducting the festival to promote tourism. So far, wide publicity has been given for the 3-day event. Sports Minister Kollu Ravindra, Machilipatnam MP Konakalla Narayana, district collector B Lakshmikantham, superintendent of police Sarva Sreshta Tripati and other officials are supervising the arrangements.

The Department of Tourism is playing an important role along with the Revenue departments for holding the festival.

In all, 250 police personnel, including 60 women officers are drafted for the duty. Over 40 expert swimmers and 30 fishermen with life jackets will be deployed at the beach to protect visitors in case of any eventuality.

Volunteers from Red Cross, NSS and other organisations also join the duty for successful conduct of festival. Police will keep vigil along the beach, roads and other important places with drones and bodycams.

Parking slots are arranged near Datta Asramam, Mary Maata statue and police outpost junction. Dress changing facility was arranged for women near the beach. Under the supervision of Additional SP Sai Krishna, three deputy superintendents of police, six circle inspectors, 23 sub-inspectors, and subordinate staff will work round-the-clock three days for the smooth and successful conduct of beach festival.

Helicopter ride is the special attraction of the beach festival. On payment of Rs 2,500, visitors can have a helicopter ride. Besides, recreation facilities will be provided for children.

Police are making special arrangements to trace missing children and public announcement system will be arranged at all important places for the convenience of visitors.
