New Delhi: A 30-year-old man carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh has been arrested for his alleged involvement in an international drug syndicate, police said on Friday.

The accused Axat Gulia, alias Akshit alias Akshay is a native of Jhajjar in Haryana, they added. Gulia was arrested on Wednesday after police received a tip-off that the accused was hiding at his friend's office in Baghdola village of Dwarka, police said.

A raid was conducted at the friend's office and Gulia was apprehended after a failed escape bid, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said.

Gulia had contacts with persons working with x-ray machines to scan cartons/packets at the Custom House in the Delhi airport.
