Ambition or Money Power or Poll Arithmetic would dictate the future politics in Tamil Nadu
The famous campaign statement of Modiji during last parliament election – “minimum government and maximum governance” has become true at least in the state of Tamil Nadu but the only difference is that there is no government and so is no governance ever since the family has grabbed AIADMK and the Government.
The famous campaign statement of Modiji during last parliament election – “minimum government and maximum governance” has become true at least in the state of Tamil Nadu but the only difference is that there is no government and so is no governance ever since the family has grabbed AIADMK and the Government.
People of Tamil Nadu wonder whether the Government exist in Tamil Nadu at all, let alone minimum or maximum governance can either happen or expect. Thanks to the wonderful system and process created largely by the imperial rulers before 1947, some governance is happening in the state despite the non existence of the government, many feels.
How the political landscape would shape up in Tamil Nadu in near future is quite curious watch.
People assume that many small parties like PMK, DMDK, INC, VCK, TMC, MDMK etc., may rally behind DMK and most probably the Sasikala faction of AIADMK may not get any alliance partner due to the disrepute it enjoys with people. OPS faction may be left with BJP and other groups that are seen as future of TN. But this assumption holds little water because it is still unclear whether both factions of AIADMK would merge or not and if they merge, whether the party would be controlled by the same family or not. The role of money over ideology in wooing an alliance partner is not at all difficult in Tamil Nadu and hence concluding the possibility that Sasi faction will not get any alliance partner is difficult, some argue.
People however feel that PMK, DMDK, VCK, TMC etc., aligning with DMK will be suicidal because such alignment although may have some chemistry and arithmetic to its side but it would ends up in strengthening the DMK and nothing else. Finally Mr. Stalin may become an invincible leader. As a result, the political fortune of the alliance parties would continue to be like lianas and they cannot ever dream of growing their party.
Considering the age and ambition of Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss, Mrs. Vijayakanth and Tirumamalaven, aligning with Stalin may help them get a few seats but that would end their political career. Further such poll arithmetic may further weaken these parties as tit would be seen as they no new idea or policy to offer other than supporting the same old Drawidian rule to remain in power. Considering the above reality, PMK, DMDK, Viduthalai chiruthai, MDMK joining DMK will amounts to self destruction, many feels.
People of Tamil Nadu are yawning for change. People want development over money politics and politics of freebies must end. People are also sick and tired of linguistic patriotism based politics and politics of anti Hindi stand of Drawidian rule.
Modiji is seen as a new hope and people wish BJP must establish in the state. If the parties like PMK, TMC, DMDK etc., align with BJP, these parties will be seen as change broker. Such change brokers will have great respect in Tamil Nadu politics in near future. Mr. OPS enjoys great respect purely because he is largely seen as ‘master change’. How spontaneously one exhibit such ‘change broker-ism’ is the not issue but whether the leaders exhibit such quality at all or not only people consider greatly at the end of the day.
It means, whosever favour and facilitate the entry of BJP in Tamil Nadu will have great relevance and contemporariness in Tamil Nadu politics, people feel. In all probability one need not have to wait for long as the present Government under the rein of a family has lost the grace of people. The youth of Tamil Nadu want a reform in the state and they believe strongly that only Modiji can bring such tsunami change. Certainly OPS can play a big role.
