Arattu Utsavam by Ayyappa Seva Samiti

Nizamabad: ‘Arattu Utsavam’ was organised on a grand scale here on Wednesday by the local Ayyappa Seva Samiti. Ayyappa devotees took out a procession on the town streets from the Ayyappa temple, along with the Lord’s idol amid singing songs.

Women and various Ayyappa ‘bhaktas’ were seen participating in the procession as it passed through the streets. They offered special ‘harathi’ to the deity. The procession from Subashnagar passed through the Collectorate, Gajulapet, Khaleelwadi, Quilla and other areas.

The devotees Chandrasekhar, Bakthavatsalam and Lakshmi, told The Hans India that they performed the Lord’s ‘Chakrasnanam’ in the Boddema Cheruvu in the afternoon and later conducted ‘Padi puja’.
