Provide facilities at colonies, Collector directs officials

Nizamabad: District Collector Christina Z Chongthu directed the officials to provide basic amenities at the SC, ST colonies by utilizing the funds allocated under SC, ST Sub-Plan.A Addressing an awareness meeting at Veerannagutta village of Renjal mandal in Nizamabad district on Tuesday, the Collector explained the aims of introducing the scheme in the State.

Besides providing basic facilities at the colonies, the officials can also take up works relating to drinking water supply, construction of roads, toilets, sewage lines and community halls.A The beneficiaries can also submit their applications for the issue of pensions, scholarships and to avail other benefits, she said.

She instructed the officials to submit proposals along with estimates to execute the works to the district officials before April 30. She asked the mandal level officials to identify suitable land for setting up of a burial ground at Veerannagudem. The officials have to give receipts to the villagers after receiving petitions from them, she said. Tahsildar Saidulu, MPDO Sayappa and other officials were present.
