Nizamabad: In-Charge Collector K Harshavardhan inspected Kasturba Gandhi Girls School (KGGS), Primary Health Centre (PHC), Anganwadi Centre, Government School, Mandal Educational Office and Girijan Boys Hostel in Sirikonda mandal on Thursday.

Mr Harshavardhan spoke to the students at KGGS and inquired about the problems faced by them. The students belonging to 8, 9 and 10th Classes informed him that they were not supplied textbooks in some subjects so far. He asked the Mandal Educational Officer to take steps for the supply of textbooks to the students. He directed the warden, cook and other personnel to provide food to the students as per prescribed menu. Fruits and eggs have to be supplied to students, he said.

When the In-Charge Collector inspected the Primary Health Centre, he noticed that the doctor was absent on the day and senior assistant was not attending duties for the past four days. He warned that he would take action against the erring officers. `` When facilities are available at the PHC, why are you referring cases to District Headquarters Hospital in Nizamabad,’’ he asked the officials who were present at the PHC. He expressed dissatisfaction over the functioning of the PHC as only 15 family planning operations were conducted at the PHC last month.

Mr Harshakumar inspected Anganwadi centre and advised the employees to provide quality food to the children. He also instructed the teachers at Government Primary School to provide mid-day meal to students without fail. He questioned the personnel at the office of the Mandal Educational Officer (MEO) why they had not distributed textbooks and school uniform to students.

He expressed his ire over the absence of the welfare officer at Girijan Boys Hostel at the mandal headquarters. He also expressed his unhappiness at the rotten vegetables at the hostel. MPDO Chandrasekhar, Deputy Tahsildar Vikram and other officials accompanied the In-Charge Collector during his inspection.
