collec2 Kakinada: Steps would be taken to conduct Class 10 examinations, which will be held from March 22 to April 9 in free and fair manner in East Godavari district, said Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad. She convened a review meeting with the officials concerned on the steps to be taken to conduct examinations, at the Collectorate in Kakinada on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, Neetu Kumari Prasad said that 301 examination centres would be set up for Class 10 examinations in which 267 centres are for regular students and 46 centres for private students. She said that 68,999 students are attending the examinations in which 60,169 are regular students whereas 8,830 students are private students. She further said that 29,097 are boys and 31,072 are girls in regular section whereas 5,804 are boys and 3,026 girls, who are taking the examinations privately. Neetu Kumari Prasad maintained that Section 144 would be promulgated in the limits of the examination centres to prevent any untoward incident. She directed the District Educational Officer, ZP CEO and municipal commissioners to take steps to ensure good facilities for the students. She directed the municipal, AP Transco and medical and health department officials to provide electricity, drinking water and first aid facilities at the examination centres. She gave a fiat to the RTC officials to operate buses on the required routes without fail. She has made it clear that no Xerox shop should be kept open near the examination centres during the time of examinations. She urged the students and parents not to trust the rumours on the leakage of question papers. She warned of strict action on the students who resort to malpractice; and suspension of invigilators if they tried to help the students in doing malpractice. She directed the educational officers to frisk the students before they enter the examination halls.
