The second edition of Oakridge Junior Model United Nations (JMNU) being hosted on July 26 and 27 was inaugurated by Naga Prasad Tummala, Chairman, People Combine.

Vice Principal, Biju Baby, said, “Junior Oak MUN 2014 is the second edition of the extremely successful conference for middle school students in classes VI to VIII. A simulation of the United Nations and its various bodies, the programme aims to engage middle school students in debate, negotiation, and deliberation during the 2-day event. This year, Junior Oak MUN 2014 will witness 500 delegates from all over India.”

Mohseena Hussain, Chief Coordinator of Oakridge MUN Sessions, says,” It is one unique opportunity for students to take part in the various simulations of UN and experience how the international delegates think, respond and debate on global issues. Sessions like this help children in understanding international policy matters, in sensitising them to issues around them, improve public speaking and lobbying skills so very important in making the child a global citizen.”

Registrations are now open for children of Classes VI, VII and VIII from any part of India. Children can enroll in the various committees like Security Council, World Health Organisation, UNESCO, etc., and debate on the agendas from the perspective of the country they represent.
