Prepare people on mining laws to avert problems: Galla

Ongole: Minister for Mines and Geology Galla Aruna Kumari said that the government was making efforts to bring the online system in issuing licences and transits on mining to get more transparency in the mining operations.

Addressing a meeting of mining officials here on Monday, Aruna Kumari said that the officials should make people aware of mining laws to avert problems while they were constructing their houses and complexes. She said that many people who did not know about mining rules had been facing problems after completion of the activity. She said that the officials should make public more mining rules and prepare people to get prior licences while obtaining material such as sand, chips and soil for their constructions.

To a question on not attending to the Secretariat regularly, she said that she was touring districts and attending various programmes and was in regular touch with the officials of her department on day to day affairs. She said that she had no differences with any officials and had well coordination with the officials of her department.
