Sophisticated cameras to be installed for the first time at Legislative Council and atop Assembly moreHyderabad: For the first time the Budget Session of the State assembly will be held under close monitoring of hawk eyed policemen. Apart from the three tier outer security cover, high resolution and high powered CCTV cameras will be keeping an eye on every nook and corner of the assembly complex. For the first time the Speaker has permitted installation of a highly sophisticated CCTV atop the assembly building to record the movements of people and vehicles in the surrounding areas of the Assembly. This decision was taken after a meeting, the Speaker N Manohar and chairman of the legislative council A Chakrapani had with city police Commissioner Anurag Sharma, DIG Law and Order, officials of the traffic police and intelligence bureau etc. So far, the council which did not have any CCTV cameras would have some installed at strategic points. The Speaker said in view of the recent twin blasts in the city, fool proof security measures are being carried out in and around assembly premises. He said the police commissioner would be deploying CRPF personnel in and around assembly premises and would be bringing additional forces from other states. Only legitimate pass holders would be permitted after conducting thorough searches and frisking. He further said that the standing committees to scrutinise budget proposals will be constituted by March 16. Another orientation camp will be held for the members as well as the assembly staff on March 25. The secretary general of the Lok Sabha KT Viswanathan will conduct the camp. According to the Speaker, already about 200 legislators had indicated the subjects in which they were interested. He said an orientation camp for the scribes who cover the assembly will also be held on March 15.
