Persisting casteism

Do you think caste system has been abolished from the society? In certain instances, it seems people from rural and urban still indulge in extensive caste and creed practices. For instance, a Station House Officer (SHO) had to put his entire energy to convince the parents of the love birds that people belonging to different castes can unite through a relationship called marriage. On further probing, it was found that the SHO had conducted about 79 love marriages throughout his career. Looking at the number of times an officer has to solve inter caste marriages in a single police station, goes on to prove that caste system still prevails even after six decades of independence. Our highly advanced education system and governmental programmes continue to fail in curbing the social menace from the society. No one can be reformed without his/her own renounce of caste feeling.
