Trial begins tomorrow; CBI submits copy of permission for prosecution to the court srilaxmiHyderabad: The Special Court for CBI cases, Nampally issued summons to the senior IAS officer Y Srilakshmi asking her to appear before the court on March 13. The court admitted her case for trial on Monday, consequent to the permission accorded by the Department of Personnel and Training for prosecuting her under the provision of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988. The CBI also filed a memo to this effect in the court by furnishing a copy of the permission for her prosecution. The CBI which probed into the Obulapuram mining case charged SriLakshmi with display of undue haste and interest in granting mining leases to the Obulapuram Mining Corporation - owned by former Karnataka minister and mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy. Srilakshmi was arrested by the CBI in the illegal mining case in November 2011. She had spent several months in the Chanchalguda prison before she was released on interim bail on medical grounds since October 2012. In the meantime, the hearing on her petition for bail was postponed to Wednesday.
