CM directs ministers & secretaries to be ready with answers to all the queriesA govtHyderabad: While the opposition parties are geared up to confront the government on various issues, including moving a no-confidence motion, the State government too is getting ready to meet the opposition's challenges effectively. On Monday, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy directed the senior officers to be prepared with at least 20 years of crucial information on core subjects, so that ministers could give prompt replies in the Assembly and Council. Kiran asked them to send all pending replies to Legislature Secretariat as there were complains that officials were not replying to the queries they had raised during various committee meetings. Kiran asked the special chief secretaries, principal secretaries and secretaries of various departments to be fully prepared for the sessions of the Legislative Assembly and Council commencing on March 13. At the meeting held in the Secretariat, he told the members that all answers should be prompt, accurate and in detail. He informed them that during the budget session, new aspects like the Standing Committees, the demands for grants, SC,ST Sub-Plan Act, special budget for agriculture and allied sectors would be introduced. There are nine departments included in the agricultural and allied budget. He added that no official should go on a leave during the budget session. He said that a nodal officer should be appointed to look after the translations in Telugu, English and Urdu to ensure that figures provided in the information were correct and authentic. He also wanted a nodal officer to be appointed in every department to deal with the Assembly and Council subjects. All officers should promptly brief the ministers on the questions and other issues that are to be raised in the Assembly and Council. The Chief Minister instructed that replies to zero hour proceedings should be sent immediately and the concerned principal secretaries should be present at the officers' box in the Assembly and Council when their subjects and departments were being discussed.
