ngsdfhsghjkfghsdWhile patients availing health services in public hospitals go through unhygienic conditions and poor facilities, the Osmania General Hospital and Sultan Bazar Maternity Hospital patients have to confront 'Hatke Pareshani' monkey menace. Visitors appear to be apprehensive of the simians more than the syringes. Snatching away snacks and fruits - that are part of the dietary menu of the patients and other belongings of attendants is a daily routine. At times they even indulge in sneaky attacks thus adding to the illness. Monkeys arrive in groups and roam around the hospital. They wreak havoc in the hospital by picking up leftovers and grabbing lunch boxes from women. Even doctors are no exception as they do not go by looking at their identity cards. "We are all scared of these simians," says sweeping supervisor at OGH Radhamma, pointing at a monkey perched on a bike. -Sudheer Goutham
