bot2Ongole: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Botcha Satyanarayana on Wednesday said that the government was determined to put an end to the power shortage in the State soon. It would be just a matter of few more days before the government takes a decision in the interests of the people, he said.

During his brief halt here while going to console bereaved family of former minister Daggubati Venkateswara Rao, he chatted with party workers. He said that the State government was ready to bear any expenditure to meet power shortage problem.

Claiming that the Congress government was pro-poor, Botcha promised that the burden on the poor and middle class would be avoided at any cost. He hinted at Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy taking a decision to this effect in a day or two.

The PCC chief dismissed the Opposition criticism of the government in handling power crisis as baseless and appealed to people not to trust the propaganda against State government.

Referring to the probe into land allotment under Vanpic (Vadarevu and Nizampatnam Industrial Corridor), Botcha said that the Enforcement Directorate would take care of it. ``The law will take its own course,'' he said, adding that ``nobody, irrespective of their status, can escape the long arm of law-enforcement agencies.''

The PCC chief dismissed the talk of mid-term elections to Lok Sabha as mere rumours.
