Rajahmundry: In a shocking development, prominent producer, Managing Director of Anand Regency group of hotels, Akkineni Ravishankar Prasad who went missing in Union Territory of Yanam from 8 July was found dead on the banks of Godavari near Gogullanka-Bhairavalanka in I Polavaram mandal in the East Godavari district on Saturday.

Ravishankar Prasad left Hotel Anand Regency in Yanam at about 3.15 am on the fateful day and walked through Yanam-Yedurlanka Bridge at 3.30 am which was recorded in CC camera at the toll gate. Local people have claimed that they saw him in Muramalla later in the day. Yanam and East Godavari police have set up massive search operation for him. The family members and the people who knew Ravishankar Prasad refuted rumors that he might have committed suicide. The made it clear that he was not a weak person to commit suicide and clarified that there were no financial problems for him.

Ravishankar Prasad is grandson of legendary LV Prasad. He is survived by wife and two daughters. He was soft spoken and kind hearted person. Ravishankar has produced several Telugu and Tamil films and very popular in the film industry. He produced of blockbusters like Shankardada MBBS, Shankardada Zindabad and Anthahpuram. According to Yanam Superintendent of police, Purushotthaman, local fishermen has found the body of Ravishankar Prasad in afternoon on the banks of Godavari islands and informed the police.

The relatives of Ravishankar Prasad, Anjani Kumar, Srinivas and Kiran have identified the body. There were no external injuries on the body. The police said cause of death could be known only after postmortem report.
